The following are the options available for authenticating your users in Mentis listed in the order of our recommendation.
Please note that, these options are only available for our Plus and Premium plan subscribers.
Connect directly to your on-premise directory
We can connect to your existing on-premise directory via VPN using an (Active Directory) connector. This option does not replicate your data and is the most preferred when it comes to authenticating your users.
Shibboleth
Mentis is Shibbolized and we can use Shibboleth SSO to authenticate your users before letting them access Mentis in the cloud. For more information on Shibboleth, visit: https://shibboleth.net/
Incommon Federation
We are in the process of becoming an InCommon Member (Sponsor). If your institution is a member of InCommon, we can leverage that instead of Shibboleth to enable authentication. For more information about InCommon Federation, visit: http://www.incommonfederation.org/
LDAPS/ADFS
You can add us as an identity provider directly with your LDAPS/ADFS services.
Google Authentication
Mentis also supports Google Authentication and is also the default option for you to get started in no time.
Replicate your directory online
A standalone (Active Directory) can be created by us and kept in sync with your on-premise AD. This option does replicate your directory online but you can assured that we don’t leave any stone unturned when it comes to the security of your data. Ideallym, you could also point us to a Directory as a Service (DaaS) option that you may be already using with other cloud services that can be reused for this purpose.
